The children in the orphanage acted much like they were a large family, everyone looking out for each other and everyone always sad whenever one of the children left. The children visited their patron temple quite frequently, and it was there that Andrew first fell in love with the idea of creating music. The group arrived early one day and caught the tail end of a choir practice session. It took Andrew a good week to work up enough courage to ask if the priests could teach him to sing and play the instruments he had seen around the temple. After that, he spent much of his time between the orphanage and the temple, learning music and sometimes assisting the choir when the priests had need of his help. While there was no paperwork dictating as such, the heads of the orphanage acted like the boy had already been adopted, and with the amount of time he spent with the priests in the choir, it certainly seemed as if he HAD been. At fifteen, having learned all that the priests could teach him in the way of music, Andrew left the orphanage and its patron temple to share his music with others and instill in them the feelings he had first felt when he had heard the temple choir. Two years ago, at eighteen, he met a young dancer while visiting a local pub in the hopes of earning a few wages during his stay in the town. She was a regular entertainer at the pub, and the owner decided to test Andrew's musical ability by having him play a song for her to dance to. He wound up staying in the town for a year, and left at the same time as the young dancer did, something drawing him to want to cure the sadness he had seen in her eyes and movements with his music. When he was twenty years old, he and Pearl joined Lord Kail of the missing Dentorian House Franel and his knight Sawyer in their travels. Along the way, they met thieves Jace and Chiel and most importantly, the mysterious Maeve. Andrew, who was certain he was in love with Pearl by this point, accidentally grew close to Maeve. Still reeling from a recent rejection from Pearl, he clung to her, almost thinking he had feelings for her...until he discovered she was the one who killed his father. Maeve left both the group and the journals shortly after telling him this, and against his better judgement, he followed her. Pearl followed him, and was subsequently attacked and almost killed by bandits. With Maeve gone, Andrew realized Pearl was the only one for him and concentrated his efforts on her. But when Maeve appeared on the journals again, he was faced with a moral and ethical crisis: he missed her as a friend, and still cared for her, but she'd killed his father. After months of agonizing and dancing around the subject, the two rekindled their friendship and he began to view her as one of his closest confidantes. Unfortunately, things didn't go so well with Pearl. They'd become so much closer in the months following the attack, and one night he told her he loved her. This, coupled with Andrew's growing jealousy over Pearl's relationship with Saywer, drove a rift between them. and making things increasingly awkward until one night in Cleraine, Pearl finally told him she didn't love him and she never would. Shattered, Andrew spent days wallowing in self-pity before trying to make himself forget her, even going so far as to avoid her in spite of himself. It was through this ordeal he realized he simply missed her, not his feelings for her, and when he and Pearl finally started speaking again, he told her he'd rather be her friend for their rest of their lives than lose her completely. On Rose Day, he was happy to give her, Maeve and Isobel friendship flowers instead of obsessing over the romantic aspect as he always did. Unfortunately, his happiness was shattered when Corrina, a close friend of just about everyone, was killed by Chiel, a long-standing member of the group. Though he hadn't been especially close to her, the loss of such a sweet, faith-filled person shook Andrew to the core. A week later, Terrance (who Andrew had considered a close friend) was arrested for the murder of Chiel. Andrew had never gotten along with her, but her death still shook him nonetheless. The group didn't even have time to settle down from these events before disaster struck House Atsir, who had up until this point been welcoming hosts to the group. One by one, Lady Laeleena's children died (Andrew was particularly shaken by the death of Lord Darz, whom he'd struck up a friendship with over the past months) and on the night of the Moon Festival, Lady Laeleena herself committed suicide. As the group prepares to take its leave of Atsiria once and for all, Andrew fears what the frozen reaches of Korin have in store for them... ![]() PERSONALITY; Andrew is a shy young man who has trouble voicing both his opinion and his thoughts. He tends to trip over his words, especially around women, and is a romantic at heart. He'd like to believe in fairytale romances and endings, and many of his songs center around those sorts of stories. He has a kind heart and believes he could heal all the world's troubles with just his lute and his voice, if only given enough time. Due to spending so much time in a temple during his younger years, and growing up in the religious country of Megam, he is rather religious and will offer brief prayers before meals, after performances, and at various other occasions. Recently, Andrew has been trying to break out of his shell and speak up more often, especially when someone he cares about is being treated badly. But his timid nature always stops him from taking it very far; he's yet to win a battle of wits or wills. ![]() APPEARANCE; Andrew has short, SILVER hair that obscures much of the left side of his face and blueish-grey eyes. He's somewhat tall, around 6'0" even, and tends to wear varying shades of blue. TESTIMONIALS ; "Only fun when drunk. Still needs to put Terrance's poem to music." - ![]() " ![]() "Sir Andrew is confused, and he doesn't know where to look for answers.
